: ALLDAY CUSTOMS REAR FIBERGLASS ROLLPAN.
mcgibbs 12-26-2005, 09:11 PM I RECENTLY PURCHASED A REAR ROLLPAN FOR MY 80 ELCAMINO FROM ALLDAY CUSTOMS ON EBAY. THE TRANSACTION WAS NOT THRU EBAY BECAUSE I WAS ALWAYS LOOSING AT THE LAST MINUTE TO A GHOST BIDDER. ANYWAY WHEN I RECIEVED THE ROLLPAN IT DID NOT FIT AT ALL AND REQUIRED ALOT OF WORK TO MAKE IT FIT. BODY LINES WERE kNOWHERE CLOSE AND THE FACTORY TAILIGHTS DID NOT SIT EVEN OR FLUSH IN THERE LOCATIONS.
VERY POOR QUALITY!! BEWARE!!!
I CONTACTED THE GUY AND HE DID NOT WANT TO RETURN THE ROLLPAN AND SAID THAT EVERYBODY HAS THERE OWN OPINION OF WHAT FITS GOOD. HE WAS NO HELP AND NOW I AM JUST OUT $150 AND HAVE TO GO BUY ONE FROM A REPUTABLE SUPPLIER AND SPEND ANOTHER $200 PLUS SHIPPING.
JUST WANTED EVERYONE TO BE CAREFULL ABOUT ITEMS THAT ARE COPIED OR REPRODUCED FROM OEMS. PRICE IS NOT EVERYTHING AND YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I THOUGHT I WOULD SAVE 50-75 BUCKS BUT WILL END UP COSTING AN EXTRA 250 BUCKS.
UnclesCamino 12-27-2005, 01:01 PM I kept looking at his sales on Ebay, I was hoping to get one on a low bid, but now that I know I will just get mine from Honest Charley. Sorry about your luck, but thanks for sharing with the rest of us.
Rob
theelcaminofactory 12-27-2005, 01:11 PM Well, maybe now you should contact him and let him know that he now has been exposed on the largest El Camino website with over 6000 members for selling a crappy product. You probably won't get your money back, but at least you might get a warm fuzzy feeling. Sometimes I also get a warm fuzzy feeling, only to find out I wet my pants  so be careful, and don't get too excited. Let this be a lesson in experience (no not wetting your pants) buy from established reputable dealers in the future.
82lko 01-17-2006, 05:43 PM Hey you guys, I bought a set from him and the lines were off about .25 of an inch on both sides. After I took it to the body shop to get the car painted, they even eveything up and added fiberglass for a clean look.
harrysc 10-19-2008, 03:11 AM I was bidding on one of these, luckily reserve was not met. THANKS you saved me some money and a lot of time and labor.
TheElCaminoKid 04-07-2009, 08:10 PM I purchased a tucked fiberglass front bumper and a roll pan for my car..... with a little bit of work they look and fit great and I saved myself a lot of money. I must have just got part of a good batch.
I am happy with my purchases,
Rick
CoyoteOn2 04-07-2009, 10:51 PM Some are just eaiser to please than others. Personaly I think they should fit and look good with NO work. If it's sold to fit the Vehical, it needs to fit right, bottom line. If not, then advertise it with a disclaimer stating "SOME MODIFICATION MAY BE REQUIRED".
T6Elky 07-16-2009, 01:31 AM I also bought a roll pan from ebay and it didnt line up at all. It took me a few days and alot of extra fiberglass and resin to make it fit correctly. Now i need one for my 85 SS, Does anyone make one that fits?
i bought one from them last year & finally put it on last month,it fit fine. required a little sanding but lined up good. screwing the lower corners through the taillight hole was a pain & i used a beam clamp on one side.
PaPa Johns 77 07-16-2009, 07:32 AM One should not expect something not designed at the same time as the vehicle was to be an exact fit. Especially plastic or fiberglass parts. They always have and always will require work to get them right. Unless you are not very picky or very lucky!(not very likely on the latter)
Heck even GM licensed steel parts you order are hit and miss at best!:dontknow:
texaselky 07-16-2009, 08:21 AM I got the front, back and spoiler from them. They fit pretty good, been on the car1 1/2 years with no problems.
T6Elky 07-16-2009, 01:22 PM I never expected the roll pan to fit perfect but when its almost 2 inch's to wide that is a bit extreme. I just wanted to know if anyone has had any good luck with other suppliers like honest charlies or the EC store.
HEARTBEAT1 07-17-2009, 03:08 PM I got one from honest charlies and i had to do some work to get a tight fit, they said no 2 bodies are th smae.i have to agree
Carretera 07-17-2009, 03:21 PM I bought front and rear from Honest Charley, rear was ok but the front (tucked) had to be cut and shaped to make it fit at the ends, it was sticking out about 3/4" to 1".
464elky got his from Lauren Engineering and they fit perfect.
I got a feeling is a hit and miss type of deal.

and if they tried to make it a perfect fit you would be here crying that it is too short!:dontknow:
This is a no win for the manufacturer!
Hansmanbo 07-18-2009, 05:37 AM Front and rears sold by Honest Charlie are made by Lauren Eng.:secret: Both the front and rear I bought were close but still needed work as expected. :dontknow:As stated....no two cars are exactlly the same.
chevyriderz 08-19-2010, 11:35 PM The one I got was a good fit very smooth gel-coat finish very happy wit the rollpan
