Anybody within 100 miles of dewitt michigan want to get together & talk el caminos this winter?
I recently moved back to the Lansing area after a 12 year tour of duty in the western part of Michigan's beautiful Upper Penninsula. I saw only a couple of el caminos up there the entire 12 years I was there. Very rare. If you want to turn some heads this coming Summer, take a tour through the U.P. in your el.
P.S. Summer in the U.P. means July & August.
Autorama would be a good place for that. Here is a link to the thread...

Dewitt? Where in Dewitt? My Elky will not be done this summer, if I decide not to scrap it. Allot of rust and not much money :) I live off of Airport Road by the river. Pm me some time. BTW, I don't do coffee, thats some EVIL stuff there :), b33r maybe.

I live in Dewitt but my shop is in Delta Twp. on Canal Rd.
Are you near Lookingglass river?
I have access to some 5th gen parts if you need some.
Don't scrap your el until I get a look at it.
Is that your 5th gen on airport rd north of herbison with the cover on it?
Must not be because that one sure isn't ready for the bone yard!

Naw, mines a 71 hiding in pieces under a rust pile in my garage :). There was 2 - 5th gen's for sale down towards the airport. I left a forum pamplet on the guys windshield with my name on it but never seen any posts in here. He was selling them but for too much I think.
And yes, right by Looking Glass north of Herbison, that little sub-division there.
What kind of shop do you have?

I bought the black '85 you saw on airport rd. What a story that is. Sold my '80 w/o power options so I could buy the '85 which is loaded. Currently I am re-doing the interior and installing fuel injection. Hope to have it ready for good weather.
The shop I refer to is in my barn on a rental property I have on canal rd. It is my former residence.
Too bad you don't do coffee. We could meet at Beaner's, my favorite coffee place in Dewitt. I'd like to get together & talk el caminos and see your '71. My first new car was a '70 el camino. Wish I still had it. Since then I've had a '73, '80, and now the '85.

Well, as soon as I find my cell phone, i think my son "borrowed" it again, I'll pm you my number so we can get together at the coffee shop. You don't like b33r :)?

My drink preferences are as follows:
1. Jack Daniels
2. Jim Beam Rye
3. Coffee
4. Water
5. Beer
As you can see, coffee is the middle of the road for me. Jack Daniels & Jim Beam are definitely off the road. Water is boring. Beer makes me fart. So I again say lets BS about el caminos over a coffee unless you have a poor sense of smell.
Beer makes me fart.
Actually, that might not be a bad way of getting a few extra horsepower while driving the Elky.
