I have an 82 Elky with dummy light sensors for gauges and would like to upgrade to stock mechanical gauges. I need help with this process, what additional parts are required with this conversion.

You also need the printed circuit board, the oil pressure and temp sending unit.

(Topic moved to Electrical Systems)

You'll need to swap out the gauge pod you currently have for one that will accept the four gauges that you want to install. Plus, as Mrapii said, you'll need the oil pressure and temperature sending units.

Let me introduce you to the ECC SEARCH (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=search) engine. If you type in "gauge swap" or "gauges" you'll find a plethora of information that's been previously discussed about what is needed to do the swap.

I would recommend getting a set of schematics for your 82. Here are some generic schematics for an 87.
