CAN YOU RECHROME THE FRONT END ON THE 5TH GENS. LIKE THE LIGHT BEZELS AND GRILLE. OR DO YOU HAVE TO BY NEW ONES. ALSO HOW WOULD YOU KEEP THEM CLEAN AND SHINEY.

I know there are places that do plastic chroming but it would probably cost you more than new ones would.

GMPARTSDIRECT.COM shows they sell the grille for $65.76 and the headlight bezels for $26.93 each.

Or check out Ebay. Go to Ebay motors, type 1982 El Camino in the search box and you will probably see new grilles on there all the time. Usually priced too high though.

Oh yeah, as far as keeping them shiney, just keep a good wax on them and they will last for many years.

I bought my new ones about 5 1/2 years ago and they still look good as new and mine is a daily driver.
