I was wondering how much it should cost to get all of the trim on my 78 el camino (including the bumpers and possibly grille) re-chromed, because the guy whom i bought it from painted over all of the chrome. Would I be better off just buying all new chrome trim?

Several years ago there was a place in CA that offered to completely restore and re-plate all the chrome and trim to show quality triple chrome plate on my 76 Elky. He wanted $1,200.00 and guaranteed his work.

My 76 has a lot of trim and chrome on it. All that was offered for them for that year is on it. You have a lot less on the 78. Now that was possibly four years ago maybe more.

I guess that your cost would be determined by the plater and condition.
