HI...I bought the brackets I need to convert bench to bucket. How do I know exactly where to mount these things and do I HAVE TO have them welded?

I would think that the outside brackets would mount where the old ones did. The inside brackets will need to be mounted in a way that positions the seat straight. You'll need to drill some holes for the bolts or I suppose you could have them welded in.

I fabracated a set for my 76 and for the 80. The sliders came with the seats.

I didn't bother with the brackets, made sure the inboard track was at the same location as the outboard one(since the inboard doesn't lock) and drilled the front & rear hole-

Bolted the rear straight to the floor pan, put about 4 washers under the front one and bolted it down. No problems!
