i am going to be putting a 350 in to my 85 el camino. i was told that the old 305 exhaust manifolds would not fit the new engine. i dont want headers and i have all the emmissions crap to deal with. so what manifolds should i buy or get. im about 2 1/2 inchs off the ground so i need the clearance

Ex. manifold last bolt wont line up between the 305 and 350. They have aftermarket headers with the AIR compatible holes, believe I saw them in summit.

The only problem I belive you will have is on the passenger side. I had a crate motor installed by the previous owner and it was a 7 bolt cylinder head for the exhuast. They sell adapter plates that will adapt it from a 6 bolt to a 7 bolt and what not....If you know what im talking about. U can go the header route but chosing the right shorty header with A.I.R. injection is hard. Edelbrock has a couple numbers but I had a problem installing them and could not use them. The issue I had was the passenger side header not being able to fit properly and bolt up. It needed about a 1/2" to go till it bolted up. Good luck! Try local junk yards for G-body 350 exhuast manifolds.
