just wondering why zaino doesnt recommend using microfiber rags instead of regular cotton towels. i have been using them on our black 04 accord which has very avery soft and thin finish . it will leave hairline scratches on it if you even slide your fingers acrossed it ! and have had no problems. microfibers are expensive and cotton towels are usually not. is this why? i get mine from perfectautocare.com the big blue towel for about 30 bucks. and leo how much is your hand crank towel wringer? i could not find the price. steve

The Fieldcrest/Cannon 100% cotton towels that Zaino recommended aren't even made any more, as they went out of business. I guess you could shop around and find replacement towels, but with the MF towels being far superior, why bother. I "assume" Zaino just has not updated its web site with its recommendation of MF towels.
Also, on Leo's website, it states: Our DF Concours Towels as well as all our textile products such as our wash mitts, buffing bonnets, applicators, etc. are now approved by Zaino Brothers as safe to use with their products!
This is wonderful news! After extensive testing Sal Zaino has declared our AlpineFiberŪ to be safe to use with their Show Car Polishes to produce a scratch free, swirl free shine. Our products are the only all natural towels and related products to receive this coveted endorsement. We have endorsed and recommended Zaino products for years as a perfect compliment to our DF Concours line.

I talk to Sal all the time, he's a funny guy. He's afraid for some reason to endorse any product on his website. He's had some problems in the past apparently and would rather stay away. If you call him on the phone, however, it's a different story, he'll confirm his endorsements.
The reason he will not recommed the Chinese or Korean towels is that they do not have any consistent quality, these two countries typically will send you one thing today, and something else tomorrow. I know several importers of these items and they have a high rejection rate. Check out www.detailcity.com he recently ordered Koren towels and what he received is totally different than the first samples. He waited months for junk. Sal recommends US made because typically US quality is consistent.
Steve, sent you a PM
