I just finished installing my new seats with the SPARCO Universal seat mounting brackets on my '78. I am quite impressed with them. However they look nothing like what they advertise in the picture on the website. The ones on the website appear to be composed of only a couple pieces, but what you get is approximately 4 heavy duty rails that need to be assembled and adjusted as needed. Then there are two cross members that allow the seat to be adjusted into place. The kit includes enough bolts, nuts and washers to do 1 and a half seats. All the bolts and nuts are 13mm, so get your metrics out! :P The kit comes complete for one seat and runs about $69.00. I am very pleased with this product and it will work for ANY seat installation project. However the mounting holes were off about 1cm for my '78, no biggy, all you have to do is drill. The most you will drill is about 4 holes and this was only a minor imperfection. Outstanding product, highly recomended! 8)

Please tell me you took pics of this in case my dumba$$ decides to do it. In my next life I'm coming back as a rocket scientist...but for this one it's too late!

Well, I currently do not own a digi cam, but I do have a throw-away one from Longs drug store. I am currently going to be welding up some holes from the old bullet mirrors (I am upgradeing to some 1996 Corvette mirrors) 8) . I am going to be documenting everything that I do and will be jerking the seats out so I will then be able to take some pictures of the product. Then all I have to do is figure out how to post the pics. :?

:D Yes...take pics, that's another project, only I plan on using the aftermarket mirrors that have the signal LED lights, not Vette mirrors.

Well these Vette mirrors that I have are heated and motorized, and get this, when you turn on the heat or defog, there is a little heat emblem in the lower right corner of the driver side mirror that lights up! I know it is nothing big, but it is something that just makes you smile!

I have heated mirrors on my Cadillac Concours but no lights on the mirrors. They come on when I turn on my heated seats... and THAT'S what makes me smile!

Damn, now you got me thinking! I just got the universal heated seat plates, ready to install ($50 ebay). They are rectangular plates that install in between the foam of the seat and all they need is to be plugged in. It shouldn't be too hard to wire it up that way, but I am currently thinking about useing the setup that the new Chevy Tahoes use.
