Hello out there!!! Anybody home? I live just south of Perry,Georgia. The Georgia Fair will be at the Agri-center Fairgrounds Oct 3 to Oct 10.Its a really Big fair, lots of fun.We have a few ElCaminos around town and quite a few muscle cars of all brands.I've been watching the weeds grow up around a 69 or 70 SS for the past year or so and I'm waiting ,saving my bucks up before I try to buy it.
Mean while my 76 is getting nicer every week.I'm in the process of changing the door seals and felts. What a job! just about every nut, bolt and screw has fought me.However while apart,I cleaned and greased the slides and regulators. They work smooth now.
Enough for now,

Hi Shane,
Bill Waxler, Region-7 Director, is currently out of town. I'll make sure he's aware of this great new feature on the ECC website.
Will get him to post more Region-7 area events.

Hi Shane! Greetings from tifton! I have a '77SS. a work in progress. Mine needs a heart transplant. The rings are starting to go from excessive accelleration research.
Someone has a '69-70SS with weeds growing around it? They should be horsewhiped! Does it have the 396 or the 455? The local antique car dealer has a '69SS with a tricked out 396. He wants $21,000 for it........I go to his shop about once a month. The owner doesn't complain too much unless I drool on the cars. Next time you pass by tifton going south. Stop by autoquest. Hope to hear from ya -Yank.

We got any Peach State Chevelle members on this board? I went to their show last year and they had about eight very nice El Caminos.

Maybe we could do something in Dalton, GA. I have a couple of contacts in that town and we could plan a Region-7 meet there. What do you guys think?

Welcome Elcaminoss31316,
We'll keep everyone posted if we can get a Region-7 meet scheduled for this coming Spring.
The director for Region-7, Bill Waxler, has been in the hospital, but he's at home recuperating at this time.
Happy holidays!

Hey Tom (Elcaminoss31316), nice 80SS Elky. How close are you to Hunter Army Airfield or Ft. Stewart? I'm in Daleville Alabama, about 5 hrs out of Savannah.

I have a work-in-progress 74 Elky, don't know when it'll be done :?: but I plug away as time permits.

Nice paintshop too!

Hey Lee, I'm 10 minutes from Ft. Stewart and about 45 from HAAF.. How is it you are familiar with those two?? Thanks for the compliments on my 80'! This wouldn't be any fun if you couldn't get a couple now and then! ;-)
Good luck with your 74'! I hope to finish all of my prodjects some day too..
Later...

Tom,
I was stationed at both bases back in the seventies. I'm heading to Savannah (HAAF) in Feb. Got some training going on....... I'm retired Army, but still work for the Gov. as a GS employee. Just can't get away from the Green Suit!

Lee,

That makes sense... I managed to get away from the green suit as I was stationed at Ft. Stewart years ago.. I just never managed to get too far away from it! Unfortunately my income is somewhat dependent on the military and current events have been screwin' up the routine around here!

Hello,

I live in Stockbridge, Georgia and own a 1974 Camino, there seem to be a lot of 5th gen Caminos around but I hardly see any other kind of Caminos.

Welcome!
I agree, there seem to be fewer 3rd and 4th generation El Caminos on the roads in this region. My first Elky was a '74 (the one Robert used for the 4th gen photo gallery base photo).

Hi Elky buds,

New to the forum here, just signed up tonight. I have a 78 Elky.

I have had it since 1992. It has been off the road for 5 years now, but just her got it fired back up the other day. It is kind of unusual. I have a 350 Olds Rocket motor in mine. Now most will probably complain or just say yuck lol. But before you do.... Years back I entered in a local car show in West Ga and took third place in the Class I was entered into. She is pumping 375 horses out of that Rocket motor. I found out the Elky was built originally in Doraville, Ga. The local Chevy dealer here in town gave me a phone number to call after finding a spec sheet hid out above the headliner and they sent me everything that went to the Elky, even have a set of blueprints that was sent with all the paperwork. I have all the owners paperwork that came with the vehicle. I am only the fourth owner of this one. Never have seen a set of blueprints for a vehicle until the Doraville plant sent me mine., has anybody else?? The Elky originally went to a delearship in Illinois and ended back up here in Georgia on the second owner. And the rest is history or even a longer story on how I got it back in 1992. When I find where I the lost photos misplaced around the home, I will post some of the old show photo's.

Just now starting to go back through it again from bumper to bumper. Figured it was time to bring the Cowboy Cadillac back onto the shows again, now that is is a Antique. Also working a 1962 C-10 Fleetside shotrbed with a 235 6-cyl.

Would like to know if anybody else is from The West Ga Area, over here in Carroll County???? Also is there any Elky clubs out west here? I am about 40 mins out of Atlanta.
