Hey,

Im just finishing rebuliding my 350, and im have just finsihed measuring the valve springs and checking their "springyness" and i have learned that they are streched and just worn out. What are the spec's that i should go towards, i put a pretty beefy cam in there, uhh dont have the specs on me and im kinda trying to get some performace outa the engine and have some fun with it soo if someone could tell me what the specs that i need for new springs that would be great!

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/valvetrain/springs_retainers.shtml <-- maybe that will help

thanks agian!!

I put a pork grind cam in mine. C'mon man, you put a cam in your engine and you don't know what the specs of the cam are, and you want us to guess on what springs to use? Get the number off the cam spec sheet, and contact the manufacturers tech rep and he'll tell you everything you want to know...instead of us playing a guessing game. You can probably get the specs off the manufacuters website if you just have the number off the cam. Another thing...what kind of heads do you have...your heads may need to be machined to accept bigger springs with that beefy(?) cam! There's more than enough people here willing to help you, but you gotta at least take the initiative and give us the info needed to help you.

Thanks, Mike. I was kind of at a loss on how to express the relationship between the cam and the valve springs and how they all work together to make a happy valve train. :-D
