What is the OHM for each voice coil ?? IF they are 4 ohm voice coils, you can wire it down to 1 ohm providing your amp is 1 ohm stable.

I'm not the best at explaining, but I'll try. I run a MMATS D200hc amp. At 4 ohm my amp produces 300+ watts, at 2 ohm it produces 600+ watts, and at 1 ohm it produces 1200+ watts. That is RMS watts, not peak watts. I am running my sub at 1 ohm. I'm running a single 12" DVC Kicker L7 with 2 ohm voice coils. By runing a jumper from + to + and a second jumper from - to - I have it wired at 1 ohm. Too run at 1 ohm your amp must be 1 ohm stable. What amp, and what subs do you have ???

My amp is a mono-block. Although it has left and right inputs and outputs, it's still a mono-block amp. In other words it doesn't matter if you try too bridge it or not. Think of the back of the subwoofer. A DVC has 2 + and 2 - posts. Instead of running 2 set of wires to the amp, just use a set of jumpers. There are a few ways of doing this. If your voice coils are 4 ohm, you can run the + wire from amp to a + post. a jumper to the other + post. The - from amp to - post and a jumper wire to the other - post. By doing that with both subs, it'll bring it down to 1 ohm. Now, if you run + wire from amp to + post, and jumper to - post of second voice coil and - from amp to - post with a jumper to + post of the other voice coil it will be 8 ohm, but with 2 subs wired like that it'll bring it back down to 4 ohm with the amp briged. I don't have any pics, and I really don't want too have too go pull my sub out of the box. Hope that helps, I'm not the best at wording what I mean. The guys over at www.termpro.com could probley explain it better then I can.

i dont want to be rude but if what they said confuses you at all then i would reccomend taking the car to a professional. if you wire it up wrong you will run a risk of blowing up the amp. i have seen a few amps catch on fire due to inporperly set gains and subs wired up wrong.

if your subs are both dual 4 ohm voice coils i would reccomend wiring it as shown in diagram #2 at the link i am going to send you.

bridge your amp and run it at a final impedance of 4 ohms. im not sure that your amp can handle 1ohm (most likely it cannot). so this is your best bet to wiring the subs.

I'd go with option 1 IF the amp is 1 OHM stable. But that's a big IF. With those name brands ( Mitzu Audio, and Persion Audio ) I kind of doubt the amp would be 1 OHM stable, or that it puts out anywhere near what it claims. Mitzu Audio, and Persion Audio are off name brands. I've seen it happen time and time again, companys exagerate thier peak wattages and advertise those numbers, but do not list the RMS wattage. When I was younger I fell for the big numbers on the box. Bought the cheap crap and was never really happy with it. As I've gotten older I tend too buy stuff with a rock solid reputation, believe me, I do my research first. No offence intended to anyone who bought the cheap stuff, just saying I never was happy with it and ended up having too spend more money on quality stuff later.

dont be discouraged though buddy..

even the off-name brands will sound better than having no subs at all. :)

Don't get me wrong, I just hate hearing that someone is unhappy after spending thier hard earned money on something that doesn't do what it claims. We all want too get them most for our money and it's messed up that companies misslead people about thier products, sucker them in. In all honesty anymore, if I was going too build a street system, I'd look at Hifonics, Pheonix Gold, Kicker, Clarion, JVC, Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, JL Audio, ...ect. Decent mid grade name brands with solid reputations. Myself, I'm getting alittle more on the high end side of car audio. At this point, I'd recomend he runs what he has till he wants better. At that time, I'd recomend Hifonics because they are reliable, and you get alot of watts for the $$$.
