I just turned 16 last month. January 7th. I am getting this 87 El Camion for 300$. It has plenty of problems. Including the tranny leaking. I am looking for a working tranny that I would buy for cheap. Used, new, whatever, I just need one.
Thanks,
Colton.

if trans is only leaking, try to fix, that would be the cheapest. Even if leaking and not fixable without removing, as long as it shifts good, you can live with the leak. Where are you located? What town in texas?

You can pour a lot of transmission fluid into it for the equivalent cost of a professional repair or replacement. If it drives, drive it. If it quits driving then you're not that much worse off.
If it's the rear seal, the pan, or the speedo connection or other exterior part that's leaking, then it's probably real cheap to fix. If it's the transmission's front seal leaking, then it's a little harder and a little more expensive to fix, but still not all that bad. It's worth checking out.
Words of wisdom: Just be safe under that 3000+ pound car and use plenty of jack stands and help. We don't want to attend any Elky related funerals.
