Hey gang, just bought a 75 Elky. It needs new weatherstrip rubber. Anybody have experience and can recommend where to get it? It sems to be real easy to get anything 68-72, and 78 on, but real difficult for 73-77.

I'm new to the list, first time elky owner, but longtime G.M. owner going back to 65G.S. Current cars include 96 Blazer, 85 4wd Sub, 75 Elky and 70 skylark.

Thanks,

Bigman

8) If you can find and afford it get GM replacement parts. Oterwise there are aftermarket weatherstripping available from SoftSeal and Metro. There are a lot of differing opinions on the quality and fit posted here on the site. I've used SoftSeal on other vehicles and have it to replace whats on my 77 but have'nt installed it yet. You can find it on ebay or www.paddockparts.com or www.opgi.com

Try Soffseal http://www.soffseal.com/

I'm in the same situation as PaPa John, haven't installed yet.

Welcome and good luck finding that weatherstripping. Did you check Dixie Monte Carlo?

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'll take a look at G.M. replacement. I didn't see a reference for 75's at Soffseal. I forgot about Metro and didn't know about Dixie Monte Carlo. That's why it's great to belong to a group like this. When I run out of ideas there's always you guys to reallign my thinking.

Thanks again,
