Hello all. I was directed from the muscle car forums to here regarding my Elk. I took possession of my new rid just this week. woohoo!!! :-D
The shape of the car always fascinated me. What is it; a car, a truck, an wacky design like the Potiac Aztec...? Whatever it is, I love it. It's like beer, an acquired taste. I just hope that my wife will over time acquire the same taste for its unsual shape.
Initially, I was looking for Grand National on eBay. What I found is that people are either asking too much for their GNs or a bunch of scammers. Then I saw this Elk and I had to have it. For an easy $1400.
Now for my new toy. '71 with 350/350. Mostly complete except missing headliners, door panels, no paint, and bed crome. Runs strong and front end is still tight. Lots of potentials.
This will be my summer '06 project. And I got a lot to learn.
