I've installed dual Flowmaster 40 S's from the stock 305 engine in my '82. I've only got a K&N filter & Edelbrock 40 Pro Breather, going through an Edelbrock 300cfm 4bl carb. The ending sound is incredible. It's deep, gritty, and loud. The El Camino makes a distinctive tone apart from other trucks and your occasional 'Stang.

I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if I wanted a louder exhaust, but after installing the parts, I was very pleased. It's not f'ing loud, but you can still hear me comming. The resonance in the cabin isn't too mellow, but I can still listen to my classic rock station when I'm just cruising around town.

The freeflow also helps to bringing a lot of power to the wheels that I found out I was losing to my stock muffler. I used to knock out at around 95mph, now I'm up to about 120-ish, (oh yes, I can out-run my buddy's Altima)

All together the package cost $230, which wasn't bad at all considering I love the difference, sound-wise and performance-wise. 8) Keep Camino'ing!

300CFM Edelbrock? That's a typo! I am glad you are pleased and at the new life your Elky is enjoying. 8-)

Now, what kind of audio system do you have to be able to enjoy the complex intricacies of classical rock music with Flowmaters rumbling in the background? :-D

Yeah no doubt, my factory 8 track with the two dash speakers can't really even be heard over wind noise with the windows down (not a whole lot better with them up either). Can't wait to put some speakers in the doors.

Glad to hear the flowmasters are working well, looking forward to getting a pair for myself.
