Well... Dad got some great news! Our 1970 El Camino SS 396 was selected to attend the June 2006 Concours D'Elegance show in Bethlehem, PA. This show, for those who do not know the Concours D'Elegance, is basically the creme' de la creme' of all shows. It is by invitation only and is a very prestigious show. Only downfall is that the weekend is going to be very hectic as the day before we will be down in Dover, DE for the AACA Grand National show and then have to leave right after the AACA show to head up to Bethlehem, PA. We have no expectations of even placing in the Concours show as I am certain there are many many cars that are better than ours but just to even be invited is a huge achievement for dad and me. If you are in that area, or at the show, stop by and say hi!
Oh yeah, and wish us luck!

DO HAVE SOME PICS OF THE 70? OR A LINK? I AM RESOTING MY 84 TO THE FULLEST AND JUST CURIOUS AS TO WHAT IT TAKES.

Pics of my elky would not help you but I am sure that I have some pics someplace. Our elky is totally stock down to the original style bias ply tires. If you are doing your elky stock, you need to do research and find out what was on your car originally. The best advice I can give you is to buy a factory assembly manual as they are worth their weight in gold. Also a factory service manual helps a ton too.

Congrats! And as far as placing as far as I'm concerned your Elky has already won 1st Place.
Sounds like the beginning of something good for all El Camino owners of all generations! Best of luck!
Oh yeah, say hi to Barry Maguire (Car Crazy) for us! ;)

Sure wish me and my 70 had your kind of problems (scrambling between top notch national car shows). Must be a rough life.
Congratulations to you all, and best wishes. Thx for making us all look good.
