I'm a three time elky owner my first was a 1974 SS 454 I lost my license twice with that one. Several years later I bought a 1986 off the floor nice but after the74 I felt like and old man. Know even more years have past and I purchased an 83 and before I disassemble this with my son I felt the need to get it running first before the winter. So my question is will a 80 nose fit an 83 with out to much of a problem or is there some problems. I would like to keep this SS as stock as possible but a good nose for $200.00 is very tempting.
Any help is greatly appreciate.

Welcome to ECC Steven!

When you say nose I'm assuming you're refering to the hood, fenders, and header panel. If you want it to look like an 83 SS then don't buy the 80 nose. If you don't mind going from four headlights to two, all of those 80 parts will bolt onto your 83. The 80 fenders don't have the marker lights in the fender like the 83 does, they're in the header panel. It'll be easier to use the 80 header panel wiring harness too, if you can get it.

I found another closely related question further on in the forum and they had a picture showing just that. Thanks, I guess I can drive a white elky with a rusted hood a little bit longer. I've got to pull the intake manifold to check a leak back by the distributor before I get it back on the road.

Thanks for the help.
