Just ran across this gadget on sale called a Tailgate Toolbox. Is interesting. Anyone have any experience or views on this? Have not confirmed fit yet.

Since it has some considerable height (when the tailgate is down), I would think you would need the same offset in height between the box and the bed. It looks like it might be okay for the pick-ups shown, but on my elky, the top of the tailgate (when down) is flush with the level of the bed, so it wouldn't work very nicely.
See, I don't think you could do this with an Elky with that tool box installed...

I carry very few tools around; if you need all the tools that fit in that tool box for "emergency repairs" then you need a new mechanic.
