You are almost there, Jake. It's looking real good and a few more long days work and it'll be rolling under it own power. Hang in there and keep us posted. 8-)

A few more? Well, most of the drivetrain is hooked up. After the driveshaft, all the big stuff will be done. Then all we have to do is fix the holes in the bed, the holes underneath the driver's seat and smuggler's compartment, figure out all the wiring, hook up the shocks to the axle assembly itself, change the wheels/tires, replace engine components (including water pump, radiator hoses, distributor cap, spark plugs, starter) install a radiator, install the gas pedal and throttle cable, have the windshield changed, hook up and modify the exhaust (needs lengthened about a foot at the rear), install the exhaust manifolds, put the bumper on, hook up and bleed the brakes, purchase and install a shifter, change to fan box to a non AC one... I'm probably forgetting a few things too. But yes, it is much closer. Oh and after all that I can worry about silly things like all the rubber body panels that are missing, getting it painted, and the trim. And it needs new headlights too :P When I think of time it will take to get this to work, I think in weeks. I'm also a little tight on money which doesn't help. Having to buy a whole different axle assembly was not something I was planning on.
