I'm trying to determine a price to offer the owner of a '73 Elky SS. I can not verify these facts from the ad, but it states that it has under 60K, 350 SB number matchings motor, A/C, leather swivel buckets, "frame up restoration", second owner.

The pictures I have received show it to be in very good to excellent condition. Appears to be a very strong "number 3" according to the "Old Cars Price Guide". I only have an old issue to go by and it states a "number 3" goes for $5,600 and a "number 2" goes for $9,800". The guide does not say anything about adding for the SS option, the leather seats option, etc.

I have not really looked at many 4th gen's, and have not seen to many Super Sports of this age.

The owner wants 10K. I think that is high. Anybody have a more accurate "book value" or opinion??? I just need to know if I'm way off in my value thinking.

Thanks

If it's in near mint condition, it could be worth near what the book says, but people rarely get book value for cars unless it's a rare one. As far as any of us telling you an exact figure, we'd be pullin' it out of thin air (or in some cases, elsewhere 8O ).
