New to the site. Great info from all you Camino Cruisers out there. Got an '83 hoping to get an '87. Got two questions.
1) do all Conquista's have a Conquista plate on the panel above the glove box?
2)checking out 87 supposed Conquista. Has the following info on top of left fender well next to fender. Is this info factory or does it indicate replacement parts?

14044 175 PANEL 2553202
14044 173 ASM 25532023
BDC ECR 48-0344

Thanks.

Welcome to ECC/NECOA Dan!

No. My 87 Conquista does not have one.

My 87 does not have any of the numbers where you described. In fact, there are no numbers there. Are the numbers on a tag?

I believe the numbers describe a replacement panel. My '83 doesn't have it and the vehicle history report I just got for the '87 indicates an minor accident involving the front end. It now appears the fender may have been repaired and the whole fender well replaced. This truck seen more action then than the seller was telling. What a surprise.

Hey, I appreciate the response. Got another question for you. I also remembered when I checked out the '87, the dash appeared to be 2 pieces, a topthat came down an inch or two and a bottom. I have seen what almost looks like a cap in several cars but they look original. Do you know if there were factory different dash styles with one like this?

Thanks.

The 5th generation dash is one piece from the defroster vents down to below the radio. There were no "original factory" two piece dashes. What you saw is probably a dash cap to cover up some unsightly cracks. There are some pretty good looking caps and rugs available but they all still look like a cap.

Those aren't replacement GM numbers or factory stamps. The numbers would have been 10049033 LH & 10049034 RH. Those numbers would have been on a paper sticker located on the back side of the fender. Or if it was an original part,it wouldn't have any # on it. I'm guessing those are some sort of aftermarket # cause GM never produced any parts with the numbers you have.

Thanks for the feedback. This brings me one step closer to passing up the Elky but my dilema is, it is still better than my '83.
