Hi, I'm in the middle of the restoration of a 1970 El camino and I was playing around with color ideas. What I was wondering is how people color or anodize chrome? (think thats the right word). I've seen pictures of people with red chromed wheels and wanted to see if ANYONE knows how to go about doing this.

Thanks, Jamie Bazaz.

There is a prosess that allows you to add color to a paint process for chrome. It is actually a 3 part paint process that allows you to tint the chrome . It works nice and looks good, but it still has "paint properties", as far a wear and scratching.

Powdercoat the chrome with Eastwood's special translucent powder paint. Looks very slick and relatively easy to do.
