: OK REGION 9, IT'S TIME TO GET THINGS GOING!
Chief Smackaho 04-09-2006, 03:13 PM This region has nothing going on, and when there is something happening nobody is interested,... Picture this: you and several other Elkys rollin down in a pack like a Bike club, Everybody hears your exhaust for miles, and as you approach everybody stops what they are doing to see your pack cruising down the road in awe of all the gorgeous Elkys,... something that you are a part of. Or think about you and 20 other Elkys taking over you local show or drag strip. COME ON GUYS!! This has got to be motivating you! All the other regions are making us look boring, we get a post what,... ONCE A WEEK?? Find out your locals here and the ones you see in your neighborhood get em all together AND PLAY! How can you be proud of your Elky and not show it off, or pull it out of the garage and blow out the cobwebs? NURSING HOMES HAVE MORE GOING ON THAN WE DO! COme on helpp 77SS out when he is trying to set this s hit up, suggest locations, events , shows. Only you know what you can and can't do, TALK to him and let him know. I'm in bum fuct podunk and am willing to drive 50-60 miles to Indianapolis for an event, what are you willing to do? It's spring and very nice out finally. Crawl out of your winter hole , put some shorts on and get out of the house for a weekend.
NOW SHOW YOUR ELKY LOVE!!
this message brought to you by the raging lunatic of Indiana......... :D
Funny you should mention something....
I just received our invitation to be in the 16th Annual "Michigan Parade". Last year I was able to convince the organizers to let us register late, but I could only get ONE other member to commit, so we had to cancel.
Here's the deal:
This is the "Michigan Parade", sanctioned by the State of Michigan, as its official annual parade. The parade route takes us around the Capitol building in Lansing, MI.
Michigan is the birthplace of the American automobile, and El Caminos, so we should be able to make a pretty good showing here! C'mon folks, we have be invited by parade organizers to participate. What's better than an Elky cruise, than an Elky cruise with people lining the streets to watch?!
The parade is Saturday, May 20, 2006, step-off 11:00 am.
Map of the route (http://apps.cityoflansingmi.com:8000/newsevents/releases/2006_Michigan_Parade41781.pdf)
I need to get us registered, so I will need a DEFINATE count of participating members by April 24 (deadline in 2 weeks). So let me know that you will be there, so that we can make a determination if we have enough members to call ourselves a group.
Chief Smackaho 04-10-2006, 06:55 PM I am going to do everything I can to make it up there for that, I just had an Interview today and got hired so I will have to see how well they will work with me on needed days off.. I will update when I know more.
wild bill 04-10-2006, 07:33 PM Count me in.
C'mon folks! I have one definate, and one "will try". That is not enough to tell the State of Michigan that we are a group.
Please post here only if you are DEFINATELY participating.
I will make a determination on Monday, if we can proceed as a group.

C'mon you guys. Steve (77SS) is bustin his a$$ for you. I know there are more of you out that way that can participate. It doesn't take that much to go from an online Internet based car club to a real world car club. All you have to do is show up. You already have one thing in common.... the love of El Camino's. 8-)
danielestuart 04-23-2006, 09:23 AM I live about thirty miles west of Louisville in Corydon, IN. In a couple of weeks I will have a motor in my '84. It has just a couple of rust spots but never the less I am almost ready to do a weekend run. El Camino transalated is 'The Road' or equivalent. I am ready to cruise. If ,after I get mine back on the road, someone can get something going I would enjoy a weekend run.
I have noticed quite a few Elkys around my area. If I had a way to print out some cards showing the website I would be more than glad to try to bring in some more fellow Elky owners.
T for Texas 04-23-2006, 11:20 AM May 20th should be ok. There is a chance I may sell my 70 SS car though :( I'm only temperarily employed and money is tight. I hope not to though.
Regards,
Bill Stuart

Great Daniele! I sent you an email with two Microsoft Word templates. One is for a business card and the other is for a flyer. I carry both around in my daily driver to let other Elco owners know we are a car club. Feel free to take out my info and put your info in its place. Then just print them out.
Lets see more Elco's in your region get out and on "The Road". 8)
