: Can't take much more
rmckin 04-17-2006, 01:12 PM Hi,
Got out of bed this morning and looked outside... Guess what? About 8 inches of snow.It warmed up awhile this morning, but has cooled back down and snowing again...
Somebody just shoot me...
Ron
Sounds like you may be living in the wrong place!
It's very simple...... if it's so unpleasant, just move!
Bowtie 04-17-2006, 09:44 PM  I was thinking it. I just didn't want to say it. :-)
Take care.
65RiceEater 04-17-2006, 09:52 PM I wish I could trade the old ladys family for snow. Not nice to say but they are just cruel sometimes.
rmckin 04-18-2006, 12:18 AM Hey again,
I am moving In about 6 weeks. Think that's why it's making me crazy. I'm moving cross country, and need some decent weather to get everything done before the trip.I have many things yet to do to the Elky, and most will be done outdoors.

Dont feel bad, EVERYTHING we do to the cars is outside. Our garage is packed with a nice workbench, Craftsman roll aways, car parts, my welding storage box, welder, an oven, compressers, media blaster, powder coater. In other words you cant fit a car in there.
rmckin 04-18-2006, 01:49 PM Hey,
Yeah, I over-reacted yesterday. 8O It blew my mind to see so much snow....but this IS Central Oregon. Don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes, it will change!
I plan to be traveling the week of the 21nd of May, so I need to get the car ready. It's somewhere around 2650 miles. Plan on making Princeton,WV by the end of that week. That's a long trip for a 27 year old Elky, hauling around 1000 lbs. It's in top shape now, but I want to check and double check everything.
Just a little more of my usual paranoia.
Ron
I am glad you decided to follow my advice quickly
Just kidding of course. Good for you man, and you are even driving the Elky across the country!
Let us know how it goes.
Me, I am in the middle of a move out of Floriduh!
Bowtie 04-18-2006, 08:34 PM I'm only about 35 miles from Princeton and go to Bluefield regularly. Drop me a line when you get settled.
I've never actually met another member in da flesh ya know. A little like Santa Clause - or my preference, the Grinch. I guess it's conceiveable that this whole Forum is written by only 3 or 4 hackers in Singapore.
By the way, the temperature in Princeton tomorrow will be 75 degrees. :)
Take care.
rmckin 04-19-2006, 11:47 AM Hi,
First off,Thanks FWI for the advise, Never thought about moving.
Yeah, this has been in the works for a couple of years.I bought the El Camino with the intention of fixing up and driving it East, then the fire ...and a whole new set of plans. Instead of driving a cherried out Camino home, I'll be driving a car that runs great, but looks pretty shabby. The paint job is rough, the front end is in primer. The interior is unfinished...
I love it here in Central Oregon, with the exception of the high prices and the painfully long Winters. So what it boils down to is I'm happy about 4 or so months a year! I don't mind cold weather, but when it goes on for 7 to 8 months, that's just too long.
Bowtie; I would be Glad to meet up with You as soon as I'm settled. Hate to burst Your bubble, but yes, this is the real deal. No hackers from Singapore  I met Doug Hart, (region 19 Director) and a couple of others at the Canby Chevelle/El Camino show last year.Good People/Beautiful Rides! :)
I have alot to do before leaving. The final 3 weeks at work will be training my replacement.I have to start the process of turning off my utilities, and liquidating furniture. I'm donating my little beater Nissan to a Church. Let them give it to someone in need. I have a some spot painting to do on my Buddy's 510 Datsun (total restoration) that has been sitting for a couple of years getting scratched up. He doesn't have the funds to put it together. Etc Etc Etc Etc
A Special Little Lady in the Valley to say Goodbye to.....
The Camino is close, just want to go over it. I still have the electric fan to install, and gauges under dash. Don't trust the factory ones. Fluid changes, bearings packed, etc.
Until next time
Ron
