I have an 87 and need to know what if any front ends will fit on it. I am having a hard time finding 87's and was wondering if 84-87 will fit and if I can put on a malibu front end. Any info or sites would be helpful.
Thanks Mike

Most G-body front ends should fit. So 78-88, an El Camino and Malibu would be a direct replacement. You could work a Monte Carlo front end on there, but thefenders are different so yeah... Only major differences to be concerned with are that the 78/79 front ends had the side blinkers in a different spot (they weren't in the fenders). I got a 82 front end on my 79... anyhow I'm afraid I've gone on a tangent....
Simple answer, yes, any 80-88 front end from a malibu/el camino will be a direct bolt on replacement.

What do you mean by "front end"? Do you mean header panel, or do you mean fenders and hood?

Well technically yes, you can put a 78 on a 87, but the fenders differ quite a bit because of the side marker lights, and the headlights differ which means the core support is different (single headlight vice dual headlights) which means the wiring for the headlights and side markers will differ, which means the grills aren't even close, oh heck just use one from 82-87...their the same. Also if you do find an 84-87 Malibu, take pics of it for me please, that would be almost as good as finding an 88 Elky. And the front end off a Monte is a whole lot different, so is a Cutlass and a Regal, their wider, it would really take a lot of work to get those to fit. An early G-body Lemans might work since they use the same doors as an Elky or Bu but who'd want one of those, their so gosh darn ugly! Oh great, now I'm probably gonna get blasted by some Goat herding Poncho puke...oh wait, I have two Trans Ams...oh Lordy I am Poncho puke.

The front on my 78 is a bit crunched up fender-wise and I found a good front end from the cowl forward on an 83 in the local yard. I talked to a guy there and he said whatever year header pannel you go with you have to use fenders that match up. The best way I've found is to look on places like Honest Charlie's and see what they sell. I think 78 to 82 are similar and then 83 to 87 but don't quote me. Do some shopping and you'll know what you've got to look for. Good luck but be carefull, everything I've started fixxing on mine leads to another problem. I might be just building a new truck by the time I'm done.

From 78-81 they differ slightly. From 82-87 their identical.
