I have a 85 ss w/ 305. So far I have added headers & dual exhaust, new fuel line & pump, carb, and air intake. What else can i do to get a boost in speed and acceleration. I really dont want to go crazy because I plan to build a 350 in the future but everything I have now will bolt right up to it.

Sounds like you've got most of the essentials already without buying stuff that won't switch over. Maybe look for an electric fan. Other than that, keep saving for your 350. That's what I'm doing at the moment. You could also look into upgrading your trans or rear end, or some aftermarket suspension.

NOS! Then just transfer it to your 350 when its built.
150hp for about $500.

HEI distributor and a better set of cylinder heads...like Vortecs, but you'll need a different intake.
I second the rear-end and nitrous ideas. The stock rear end gears are most likely very tall, put in a good posi and some 3.55-3.73 gears, and slap a nitrous system on (make sure you're running an MSD or equivalent and colder plugs) and go have a blast

I would have also put in a little beefier cam along with Vortec heads. You will get more bang for the buck.

A 150hp nitrous shot on a stock 305 will probably give you more bang than you planned on. Definitely consider 3.73 or even 4.11 rear gears and if you disable the CCC you can get a distributor with an optimized advance curve.
