I'm trying to locate the gaskets that go on the top and the bottom of the spacer between the carb and the air cleaner housing for a cowl induction hood on my 70 El Camino. The Chevelle/El Camino Assembly Manual lists the part# as: 3969843 Gasket. I've looked on as many GM/Chevy websites as I can find as well as any other related websites but still can't find anyone who has them. Even tried aftermarket sites but still nothing. Anyone with a cowl induction system can you tell me if these are even necessary or can you get by without them. Also, if anyone knows where I can get them please let me know.

You probably don't need it, but if can't find one and do need one...make one! Have you tried National Parts Depot (NPD)? They carry most of the parts for the Cowl Induction system from what I've seen.

I've tried NPD, OPG, True-Connections, GM Resto Parts...just about everyone. You're right I'll probably have to end up making them. Would a paper material work or should I use rubber material? LMK :-)
