I have an 84 and I have a bad 305 in it. I got a hold of a 350FI, 4 bolt for $250. I am going to go through the new motor, but my question is, Do I go back to carb or do I find the computer and sensors and go with the FI. Has anyone done this? From what I understand the oil pan should slide in without a problem? Any other issuses I might run into?

What year is the 350? If it's an 87 and up, your old 4 barrel intake manifold will need some mods to make it fit so you could stay with the CCC system.
What type of fuel injection? Is it tuned port or is it a throttle body? Both will require a different ECM. In my opinion, if you don't have the donor vehicle for a TPI swap you'll be doing alot of searching for all of the "little stuff" The TBI is a bit easier to install without a donor vehicle.
Painless Wiring makes a new wire harness for both systems. I bought one of their TBI harnesses for my sons 79 Malibu. I think it cost around $275. A used ECM will run another $40-50. You can probably grab a distributor and all of the TBI sensors from a junkyard TBI pickup truck for another $50.

The 350 is a 94, with a throttle body. I will have the motor on Saturday, haven't seen it yet. Ifigured I would end up doing some junkyarding for this. My son is a Nucular Engineer, and he had the carb so screwed up I figured the FI would be better. Maybe he wouldn't play with it so much

94 with a throttle body sounds like an LT1. If it is get the ECM and wire harness, get it running and hold on cause it will scream!
