I didn't know where to post this so I'm putting it here. Sorry if I'm doing it in the wrong place. Anyway.... I have a 79 that is in okay shape but has serious rust on the driver's floor pan, you can see the ground, and is otherwise pretty straight. I have a chance to buy an 83 that is pretty complete except for the rearend missing for about $500. My question is can I take the two and make one? Other than the cosmetic differences and the 83 having a mini computer I don't see too much problem and I would probably use most of the wiring from the 79. Anyone know why this wouldn't work? Will the 79 rear fit in the 83? I think most parts swap and they are both V-8/ Automatic cars so I'm hoping I"m right. Thanks for the feedback gang.

A 1979 and a 1983 El Camino are paternal twins, virtually everything is inter-changeable.
