Hi,

I have a 86 EL Camino that I purchased around 94 or 95 and it is missing the Service Parts Identification Label that should have been in the glove box. Is there any way I could obtain another or replacement one possibly or even just find out the option codes my EL Camino originally had when it left the factory. I notice in the shop manual I have it gives a Part # 14065987 for this Service Parts Identification Label. The VIN if that will help is VIN # 3GCCW80H3GS903665. I thought I had read a post on here sometime back before joining about a guy in Canada that contacted is local dealer and they where able to get him one but can't seem to find that post again. I have had no such luck with any of the local dealers I have contacted so far. Thanks for any help or information anyone may provide regarding this.
Eddie

In 1985 (mid-year?) through 1987 El Caminos/Caballeros(?) you can generate a Service Parts Identification Label only if you can locate a copy of the original invoice or window sticker. The Service Parts Identification label replaced the engine compartment cowl mounted Trim Code plate. I believe this switch occured sometime during the 1985 model year. All 1986-87 Elkys have the SPIL on the inside of the glovebox door. It lists all applicable Regular Production Option (RPO) codes for that particular El Camino.

Mine was built in June 1985 and it is on the inside of the glove box door

Any earlier '85s out there with it on the inside of the glovebox door? Any '85s with the trim plate on the engine compt. firewall? What month was your '85 Elky produced?

Can someone identify the codes from the "Service Parts Identification" plaque from my 1986 El Camino. Trying to determine exactly what model, Standard, SS or Conquista.
I have the label that's been removed (by previous owner), but wondered where it was removed from; is this laminated plastic label glued to the glove box in the year 86? The GM Manual shows various locations, one being behind the drivers seat on the inside of the bed. I found a number of the codes listing these factory options for a 1984, but there are a number of them not listed. May have been options not offered in that year.
Thanks for your assistance. Nick

The labels are in the glovebox !
If you have the BX8 That's the conquista body side molding & 2 different paint codes on the U (upper) & L (lower) !

Thanks for the response and yes, I have th 8XB, so now know what it is. Did they then have the decals on ONLY the tailgate? If I wanted to be accurate with all the details specific to this model, should this Conquista insignia be added?
I still need to know the nomenclature of these codes listed on the SPI. Does anyone have this for the year 1986? I saw one for the 1984, but I have some additional codes that were not addressed. Nick

Thanks, I now know that I have the Conquista since there's an 8XB on the SPI. Still need to know the nomenclature for all the other codes since the ones I see on a previous thread were for an 84 and did not cover a number of ones listed. Where do I find these or hopefully other members have them listed. Thanks, N

Not sure if I am doing this right to respond to SPI. I now know I have a Conquists since there's the designation of 8XB on the SPI. Still looking for more nomenclature from the SPI numbers/letters to determine all the options ordered on my 1986. Where can I find this and if any members can guide me to them, it would be appreciated. Thanks, N

Thanks, but in accessing this, I am still missing these codes: B3W, C1B, D7S, E5Z, MW9, PA5, PC4, PO6, SAL, UA5, UN9, IAY, I2U, 6XZ, 7XZ, 79B, 79I, 79L & 799. Not sure why these were not on the list of 86 options. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, N

Thanks, that's 9 solved, still missing 13, so possibly there's a listing somewhere I can access that would have ALL. I'll continue to keep this going and hopefully someone will come thru. Great help and enjoying getting answers from all of you. N
