I've always been a fan of El Caminos. Thinking of getting one, but wondered whether it would be possible to get 3 people sitting in one!? Occasionally need to take 3 on a trip... Looking at a Gen 5.

There is a center seatbelt. I have had two passengers on a few occasions but it was a short trip for lunch. If you have the average American male passenger you will be shoulder to shoulder with three on board. I would not want to go very far like that. The center passenger does not have a good place to put their feet.

You can get El Caminos with bench, or split bench seats capable of fittinig 3 people, however the person in the middle has to be small. mine has a split bench, but it is a little uncomfortable with 3. wouldn't recommend long trips though.

Also, if tou do get an Elky you may want to stay away from the 305 with computer carb if you're wanting any kind of performance, I have it, and it is very weak.

You can fit 3 comfortably! When I had my bench i crammed 4 other people excluding myself. Dont ask how, but it was very unsafe. U can also fit 4 people too. And im the bigger guy so i need more room too. But a 5'th gen can fit 3 EASILY!

It's true 4 gens with a bench or a split bench can hold 3 really well.

I can fit six adults inside my Elky...two full size, and four height challenged circus performers...eight if I can find two more that are willing to ride in the smugglers box, but then they usually complain that they can't see out the window and all I hear over and over is "Are we there yet...are we there yet?"

my dear ascamino i got a 5th generation elky and u can fit 3 people very confortably but if ur mexican like me u can fit like 4 counting your self and 6 on the back very confortably trust me its been done before lol :P :lol:
