We have been invited back to the Sumpter Country Fest Parade, Saturday, May 27, 2006. This is the parade we attended last year, and as a group, won "Best Antique Vehicle".
Theme for 2006 : “The Year of the CLOWN”
Line-up will begin at 10:30 a.m. behind Little Town Party Store, 21625 Sumpter Road (on the corner of Judd and Sumpter Roads). This year’s parade will step off at 12:00 p.m. from the corner of Judd and Sumpter Road, travel Sumpter Road south to Dunn Road, ending at the festival fairgrounds.

At the pavilion location, hot dog, chips and pop will be served for participants (we usually go to a restaurant instead). Trophies will also be awarded at this time in designated entry classification. New this year will be a “Best Theme Entry Trophy” for the Year of the Clown. The best decorated or dressed entry in the parade with a clown theme will win. (I'm still working on a "float" idea.)
Please note, this is a relatively small parade, meaning the number of spectators is a little low, but we got a great response last year, and organizers really want us back!
So for everyone that said they couldn't come to the Lansing parade, here is your chance! I know this is short notice, but if you would like to attend, please respond here by Monday, May 15, so that I can get our registration in on time.
