:? :? :? My 1982, 305 starts great, runs great when I start off but, after I drive about 10 miles it tends to idle rough. When I get to lights it mostly acts like it wants to cut off, sometimes it does when I don't press the gas while holding the break and clutch. Recently I took off the stock air filter and replaced it with a custom aftermarket air filter, this is when this started. I caped the vacuum inlets in the front and rear of the carburetor and reset the idle and it started out great.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do here?

I would say you have a vacuum leak somewhere. My work car a ford escort done the same thing. Started great, idled cold great, but once warmed up idled like crap. I would run the engine and listen for leaks.
