I currently have hooker super comps on my El that I want to get rid of, for clearance & maintinance issues. My question is will I still have the same spark plug & gasket problems with a set of shortie headers? If no, then what's a good/cheep brand of shorties for a 79 SBC? If yes, then what's the best type of exhaust manifolds to go with? The new exhaust setup is going to be 2.5" straight pipes to a dual 2.5" in/ single 3" out 50 series Flowmaster.
