My 95 'vette LT1 w/4L60E arrived and now I'm starting to get it ready for installation into the '85 Elky. I know this sounds like the cart before the horse, but it looks like the belt idler under the A/C may conflict with the power steering box.
Has anyone done this swap.....and did you have any problem with this clearance or any other major problems???? :?
Thanks in advance!

I don't have the Vette setup but a number of people here do (we need a separate LT1/Elky section :P ) and I have not heard of any problems with the idler pulley and the power steering. You should be OK. Check the site and post any questions here. There are 8 or more LT1 powered Elkys here so there is knowledge on getting them going.
I'm a newbie to this board. About a year ago, I did the exact same swap of a 1995 Vette LT1 into my custom 1983 Elky. I got the engine from a Vette rollover, had about 16,000 miles on it. It came with the 4L60E tranny, also, which I used, replacing the 700R4 that was in the Elky. It's difficult to use your Vette computer, so I used a re-programmed Camaro one I purchased from Howell. They'll program it for you and they also have a great wiring harness made especially for the Elky--much easier than trying to adapt the original harness. Cost for both is about $900.
I didn't have any clearance problems with the power steering box. I used all of the Vette engine accessories, A/C compressor, power steering pump, etc., and kept the same radiator, a 3-row. The only tight place I encountered was at the A/C box on the passenger side. It fits, but it's tight, so it's not a real problem, but you'll need to put some heat shield tape on it.
