Anybody ever purchased any chrome rims from Pete Paulsen?

http://www.petepaulsen.com/Catalogofwheels/Rally%20Wheels.htm

I'm really interested in a pair of 15X10's w/5.5 B/S for the rear, and 15X8 w/ 4.5 B/S for the front to fit my 70 w/mostly stock suspension.

The $460 price (delivered and includes derby style hubcaps) seems very competitive compared to other suppliers, and a lot more competitive than wheel vintiques. However, their 6 month's warranty on the chrome finish seems "short" so it makes me wonder about the quality of the chrome.

Any similar experiences out there with this supplier?

Thx

Mike

I bought a bare set of 15x8 rallys for the rear of my 64 from him. It was the beginning of drag season and I needed the wider wheels to mount my slicks. I tried the more well-known manufacturers first, including Wheel Vintiques and Stockton Wheel. All were backed up 6-8 weeks, and considerably more expensive. Not to say their products are inferior by any means, as I've bought wheels from Wheel Vintiques in the past. My bare wheels were a little rough, I had to spend some time cleaning them up before painting, but all that should be taken care of before chroming. Unfortunatley, modern chrome is not allowed to use the chemicals that were used in the past. Getting quality chrome today is virtually impossible. That may be the reason for their short warranty on it. I would suggest getting them powdercoated if you have a local shop that can do that for you. The look won't be quite the same but durability will be much greater.
