Bought a new set of GOODMARK "steel" inner fenders for my '70. I should of known from the stickers on it, "Made in Taiwan" these might be trouble.

The dam things don't even come close to the holes lining up. Three of us "car guys" fought just to get five bolts on to hold one fender on. Now the fender squeaks on every move the car makes going down the road or just opening and closing a door. The squeak sound is driving me CRAZY! Oh my god what a garbage product!

So disapointed with the product I have not even tried to put the second inner fender on yet. :

Maybe this is a dumb question but why did you get the steel fenders? Didn't all 3rd generation Elkys come with plastic ones? I'll bet they would have easier to work with and probably wouldn't squeak.

No, it's a great question to ask!

I did have the plastic fenders. They both had cracks in them.

I knew the metal fenders were light weight and just thought they would last longer and maybe have a better finish look to them. I did not even think about metal against metal squeaking.

I had ask the question here on the forum before, metal vs plastic. I read more pro than con with the metal. I wish I would of went with the plastic ones.

I bought the Goodmark fenders, inner fenders, and radiator brace for my full size '83 Chevy truck. Nothing but junk, the left marker light holes didn't line up for the front light, the studs for the charcoal canister both broke at exactly the same place, and the edges on all of the panels were very sharp and I cut myself pretty bad a couple of times intallling them. Wear thick gloves! At least GM panels don't have sharp edges. I would NEVER recommend Goodmark panels to anyone.

I seem to remember seeing a Goodmark ad that says "We install what we make". I wonder if they have ever tried to install the stuff mentioned above???

I purchased the plastic inner fenders for my 70. Passenger side went on no problem, driver side stuck out about 3in I had to cut.. I since replaced them w/metal. Driver side ok the passenger side well lets say alot of cussing/screaming got it in though I had to get my fender realigned at a body shop.

So return them! Tell them that the parts don't fit and you want your money back. If you used a credit card and they refuse to refund you file a chargeback claim with yout credit card company.
