Kicking around the idea of the aluminum 16" S-10 xtreme wheels for the '78. Anybody try this? Are there any clearance issues to be concerned with?

It depends on your tire size pick. My best friend is running 17"s on his '85 Elky.

What about the backspacing? I know the Camaro wheels will rub on the tie rod ends, any idea if the Xtreme wells are like that or not?

I haven't specifically run the Xtremes, but my guess would be that they will require some backspacing. Anybody know for sure?

the ZQ8's will fit as they are with up to 255-50-16's

I'm running ZQ8's (older style) with 245/50/16's on my monte. The newer style have the SAME back spacing. pics below

they will rub the frame in the front slightly at "full lock" of the steering wheel

Most of the rims off of rear wheel drive cars and trucks have a good chance of working fine.

Camaro & Vette wheels are different and mount very much like the Front wheel drive cars. Older wheels from those cars will possibly work, the newest stuff will more than likely be a problem or more of a problem.

Just what I have seen.

Just what I have seen.the 82-92 3rd gen camaros and bird wheels will work,im putting a set of gta crosslaces on my sprint, there 16x8s,keep in mind, while the front wheels are zero offset, the rears are 16 mm offsets. they should still work, might require a small spacer, ill letcha guys know, but all 3rd gen 82-92 fbody wheels will work ,the 4th gen 93-02 fbody wheels wont fit, youll need 2.5 " adapters front and 1.5s rear,i THINK,thats what is required to run 4th gen wheels on a 3rd gen, stands to reason that 4th gens would require same adapters on a elky
