I have come across a vendor that has been doing more commercial work in the past but is trying to get more into the consumer business now.
They make their own high output alternators (regular or chrome) 1 wire or true 3 wire or whatever you need probably.
I have overloaded my stock 60A alternator and they (Rich) worked with me via SEVERAL e-mails to determine what size I needed, in that I wanted to stay true 3 wire and wanted chrome.
They aren't the cheapest options available, but in discussing their product, I feel they use quality heavy duty parts and windings in ALL of their products. Besides alts, they have starters, Odyssey batteries, trans coolers and misc. other items.
Their name = Quality Power, Ph = 626-358-0763, email = Qualitypower1@aol.com (Rich) and their website = www.qualitypowerauto.com.
My 120A, chrome, 3 wire alt will be here friday the 30th and if it isn't the quality I am expecting I will immediately put in an OOPS!! on the site.
UPDATE: Alt was delivered to my house on the day promised. Looked great. I had to rotate it 1/4 turn to get main post at 2:00 and lifted it a little to high and lost a spring from behind one of the brushes. When Rich at Quality Power CALLED me to make sure I got it, I told him what I did, but that I was going to get the spring replaced, since I screwed it up. He called back later that day and said he thought I really needed more amps anyway, so he is sending me a bigger amp alt, we are switching to single wire, he is including all wiring to switch over and keep all dash lights, etc AND he is paying freight on incoming. When I return the 1st one, I will pay freight back. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE FOLKS.
Received replacement alt as advised and installed it. I can now run ALL electronics and still get adequate charging and still have workable idiot light. THIS COMPANY AND RICH WENT WAY BEYOND NORMAL TO BOTH HELP ME GET TO WHERE I NEEDED TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
