I'm trying to install a floor shifter in place of the broken up one that was in the car when I got it. Unfortunately, my shifter has no facilities to handle the back up lights which I will need to pass inspection (not to mention safety issues). The shift kit instructions say to keep the regular linkage to the column so that the normal wiring will handle the backup lights. Unfortunately, the column tranny linkage wasn't with the car when I got it. I picked up the one shaft piece that slides directly into the U shaped bracket that comes out of the transmission but am missing anything between that and the column. If anyone has the piece(s) I need, please send me photos and I will take them (unless the price is super-unreasonable). Try to get back to me soon as I'm hoping to have the car running in the next week or so.

Hopefully, the wiring in the column is still in place and hooked up to turn the backup lights on :/

8) Look at the bottom of the column. There should be a switch on the top side with purple wires on it. That will be the neutral safety/backup light switch! :cool:

When you say the bottom of the column, you mean up under the dash, right? Thanks for the help.
