The RPO's Z15 (SS) and (D91) Conquista were mutually exclusive.

They had competing trim etc so they had to be one or the other. They were both appearance packages geared towards different buyers.

fyi

Be careful of what you find for sale on ebay. They are increasing number of cars that are clones, fakes and down right made up cars. I am aware of several guys that have bought cars that turned out to have switched VIN's, or be phoney SS and Z28, one even is suspected of being a stolen car. Its a gold mine for crooks to sucker in unsuspecting niave buyers who want a classic car. Whats more, people are fencing stolen goods on ebay. Some guys were nabbed last year in Michigan who were shop lifting electronic items and selling them on ebay. Even getting more than what the selling price of the item was in the stores, it was a big operation of many thief's. Its surprising how many buy cars sight inseen for large sums of money and get screwed.

Read about this guys legal troubles (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=98329)

Anyone that uses Ebay as a standard of what was, or was not available on an El Camino is a fool. An Ebay seller can make up any description they want to for what they are selling. It's up to the buyer to sift through the truth and the lies on any item for sale there. There's lots of GM documentation available to identify any option on any El Camino (and I has most of it).

Amen, there is a LOT of people getting screwed and a lot of sellers cokky as all get out. "oh I bought it that way" and "check the VIN" or "check the registration". I try to expose the most obvious but its tough.

Stop beating around the bush Ernie, tell us what you think!!!

I'd go further, anyone that buys something without researching it, especially classic and muscle cars or cars in general is a fool.

The sky is the limit as far as what is for sale in that place.

My Elky is the perfect example, it's a 84 Conquista but it's appearance will be closer to that of an SS with a Choo Choo frontend. Does that make it an SS...no! Does that make it a Choo Choo...no! It's still a Conquista based on the build sheet. Would I be honest enough to never pass it off to an unsuspecting soul as an SS or Choo Choo...you bet I would, I'm investing way more into it than a SS or Choo Choo would have cost me! It's mine and it was made the way I wanted it! Watch out whats for sale on Ebay...my son bought a 350 GTA Trans Am...it wasn't a GTA, and it wasn't a 350...perfect example of him getting burned because he didn't research it. Although he still got a very good deal on it, so it doesn't much matter. I own it now, and when it's finished, it'll outperform a real GTA anyway.
