mgs72elky 07-18-2006, 05:59 PM Hey Mike, Just checked the link you provided, but it wasn't clear with this webtv. The 28/29 is a Fri. & Sat.- Odd days aren't they? Either way, where I'm not going out west, I just may make this show, but on which day?
87ElCamino 07-18-2006, 06:15 PM I think I may go Mike. But, I'll just go into the "display" class ($5 and no judging or goody bag).
Mark, the car show is Sunday July 30th. Registration is 8AM to 12PM. (So if Jay goes he'll be there at 7AM :joker: ). Hope to see all of you there.

mnunn 07-18-2006, 07:19 PM Hey Mike, Just checked the link you provided, but it wasn't clear with this webtv. The 28/29 is a Fri. & Sat.- Odd days aren't they? Either way, where I'm not going out west, I just may make this show, but on which day?
Sorry Mark. My bad.
Should have said 29/30, not 28/29. I've corrected the original post.
I may go Sunday the 30th if I'm not elbows deep in my truck's 396 lobotomy by then. If you want I can email you the flier as an attachment if that's easier for you to see using webtv.
mgs72elky 07-18-2006, 07:32 PM That's good of you to offer Mike, but I find that the majority of the time, any attachments I try to open usually come back as "a kind of info that can't be used". In so many ways this webtv stuff is utter garbage, but to buy a computer solely for NECOA business doesn't make sense, sides I wouldn't know what side to hit with the hammer first. Thanks Mike.

I'd love to go, but family stuff and a minor wiring issue (forcing me to not have the Elco inspected) will keep me from going. If I was going, your right Ernie, I'd be there at 07:00.
But as a point of reference. When we showed up at the RI show, I was not the first El Camino there. I was there early, but wasn't quite "awake and withit" when Mike came up to me to say hey.... so Mike will now take over the "early bird" duties :-)
mgs72elky 07-28-2006, 08:46 PM Hey Guys, Thought I'd also make my intentions known. Been a tough week for me with the back issue, so I don't plan on going to the Goddard Park show. There's a new show here in Fairhaven, not 5 miles from me, so if I'm up to it I'll pop in there, see what kind of a show they put on. Hope those of you that do go to the R.I. show have a great time. Hey Jay, hope the wiring issue is no big deal. On a side note, I know this isn't the proper way of doing things, but bear with me and this damn webtv. If Mike & Tom read this, would you kindly let me know if you recieved the PMs I sent to you. I don't know if I screwed it up or what. Thanks. Hope to catch everyone at the next show. Later

As much as I'd love to participate, this time I'm going to pass on this show at Goddard Park in RI. Even though it's in my back yard, I really want to get my truck engine R&R moving along and need the weekend time to do so.
I'll miss seeing you who do go, but there's La Sallette coming up on the 13th, the all vehicle show on the 25th and the ECCC event on 10 Sept. I'm sure our paths will cross again soon.
Next time.
el Bandido 07-31-2006, 08:38 PM Hey Mike -
Glad to hear that you are planning to do the La Sallette Show in Attlleboro on the 13th - I have been planning to go to that one too.
I spent Sunday with Mark at the Fairhaven Show and he is going to try to make it also - its probably only about 25 miles for him.
We were talking about YOU on Sunday - they put us in the 2 WD TRUCK class ! ! We knew you would appreciate that... there was only one other elCamino there and about 20 other very nice trucks. I got a runner-up trophy ! (5th).
Hope you got that 454 into your truck -- seems like a lot of trouble just to sell it.
See you in a couple of weeks.
Tom
mnunn 07-31-2006, 09:13 PM Hi Tom. I was warned when I 1st got my Elky that with some car shows they stick you with the 2wd trucks. Sorry it turned out that way for you.
Even amongst the trucks, you and Mark would make a hard pair to beat. Those must have been some kind of show trucks for your stellar ride to get 5th.
Last year La Sallette had one class for Elkys (6 of us I think) and another for Rancheros (a single entry as I recall).
Pulled the 396 out of the C-10 on Sat and spent Sunday cleaning parts and cleaning/painting the engine bay. Not likely I'll get the 454 install done this week or weekend, but soon, I hope.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon too.
Mike
