I have a 1984 SS that is starting to show it's age. The doors are starting to rust the bottoms. I would like to get the whole thing repainted but everywhere I take it they do not want to get into "restoration" work. Does anyone know of a place in ohio that does a good job at stripping the whole truck down, and fixing doors and any other rust they may run into under the paint?

The rest of the truck is rustless, except for a little bubbling starting at the thr driver side mirror mounting to door. I'd like to get this taken care of within the next year. But don't want to spend 5 grand that everyone is telling me they want to just start on it, and may increase depending on what they get into.

The problems with a total resto job is that there is a lot involved with repairing rust. I know a couple of shops that will charge 3000 for doing your R&I of handles, moldings, mirrors, bumpers and misc stuff. Then scuffing and painting. This will give a very good paint and minimal chances for peeling paint. Now if you also have to repair rust and other damage it will add to the cost.
