Okay so I was dropping my friend off the other night and this was in the parkinglot of his appartment complex

(Crappy picture lol I know but I couldn't angle my car to shine the lights on it in any other way.)

His neighbor is moving in like 2 months and is selling it. As you can see it's pretty dented from the back, actually there are little dents all over lol but it's not that bad. It's got a 350, which my friend thinks he said is the original one....it starts and stuff and the guy said it ran fine before the clutch went out, so it needs a new clutch. The interior is like...awesome. Black leather with only two little cracks on the drivers side, everything else looks perfect. She still has all her emblems and everything works on her just fine.

The guy is asking $1000 OBO. I thought that was a little much, but my husband was like "LET'S BUY IT!" Haha. We thought about offering him $800 for it, but we REALLY don't have room for another car...and I don't think I could take on a project that needs that much TLC.

So my question is, is that guys price reasonable? I only paid $1200 for mine...and it doesn't need anything eexcept some body work and tires...so yeah. But mine is a 77 and this one's a 70.

What's your take on it? Since you guys are so smart and stuff

Sorry I don't know more information on it.

Your kidding, right? Is this really a psychological test to see how far some of us are willing to go or how much we're willing to spend just to get our hands on a 70 Elky and making that decision based on one photograph of the car and in the dark no less? If the rest of the car looks like that tailgate, that car is going to need a lot of work, but before I commit to saying "yeah it's worth $1000" or "yeah it's worth whatever it's weight in scrap metal is," go back during the day and take more pics if you want even a somewhat educated guess. For all I know that could be just a pic of the rear of a 70' Elky which looks like someone attacked with a hammer and the rest of the car doesn't even exsist. I'm not trying to be rude Sara, I would just hate to see you shell out $800-$1000 bucks for it and then it'll take another $10,000-$15,000 (or more) of your money to make it a keeper. At least from the pic the tail light and back up light lenses look good...looks like everything else needs work though. My initial gut feeling is, if the rest of that car looks like that pic, "RUN!"

Like I said, I couldn't get a decent picture because I was shining my car lights on it, and inorder to get a better view, I would have had to back into the car parked across from it. Most of the people who are often in this forum also know that I know nothing about cars lol I don't plan on buying it anyways, we don't have a place to put it. We're going to wait another month because the guy who has it is moving and if he doesn't sell it by the time he leaves he might just ditch it. :(

It needs lots of love.

Thanks George :)

The guy skipped town...I wish I knew what happened to the Mino. My friend said that he didn't take it with him but it's not there anymore. I hope it found a good home :(
