I have an all stock(except headers and exhaust) 1982 El Camino and i wanted to know what the gear ratio is a. If anyone knows a website that i could go to I would appreciate it.

Here is a website that will help you calculate your rear end ratio. Just enter your MPH, RPM and tire diameter, and it will get you a pretty close answer.

I'm not sure what your question is, but if you mean Posi-traction vs non-posi, you can look for a small metal tag on one of the cover bolts on the center of your driveshaft. The metal tag means it is a Posi unit. You can also jack up the rear end, and with the transmission in neutral ( engine off!) turn one of the rear wheels. If the other wheel turns in the same direction, you have Posi.

There should be some code numbers on the front side of one of the axle tubes, the right side I think. These numbers can lead you to the ratio, etc that was original.

Do a search on Differential Ratio to access a thread that discussed this subject rather completely on this site.
