hi there everyone... new member here.

i just picked up a '75 with some pretty nasty old headers on it. previous owner was running rich for a while and besides that i think theyre pretty much shot. look cheap to begin with.

i had heard about header wrap and investigated that as an option, but it seems like thats just a temporary fix and will destroy the headers over time.

so, i started to look for either a set of stock manifolds or decent headers, and i cant find any at the major part stores that are made to fit my specific year. not wanting to run into clearance issues, i was wondering if anyone knows a store, or part # that will fit a 1975 with a 350.

the exhaust is also pretty nasty so i'm not worried about fittment to my current exhaust system--itll probably get replaced with the headers.

thanks in advance!

The problem is that your looking at "major parts stores" I found no problem locating headers for your car at Summit, ranging in price from under $100 to over $600 in many different brands. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+4294839039+4294908216+42949250 67+4294908177+115+4294840140 if you want OEM exhaust manifolds check here http://www.1aauto.com/ or look at just about any boneyard for used. If your headers are old and rusted, header wrap is not going to do a thing for them.

I'd go with summit. That's where I bought mine. I live in L.A and the Kragen and Autozone stores over here will order me almost anything I show them in the Summit catalog. They will also price match so it cost you the same. You just save on shipping.

But I like buying from Summit. Cause I have an account and earn points for rebates and prizes. They have the best customer service. And there a summit wharehouse in Nevada so I usually get my stuff in 2 days. Once I got some sparkplug wires the next day 8O

I agree with caminofactory that if you just want some manifolds you might be better off takin' a trip to the boneyard. :)

well, today after returning the useless and pricey header wrap to advance auto, i decided to ask the parts guy there to look my car just for the hell of it. turns out he had a single pair of pretty nice dynomax headers in the warehouse that someone ordered and never picked up. good luck eh? now ive got something to do on saturday!
