I'm about to get my TH350 replaced with a 700R4. Same guy that did my TH350 18 months ago.
Anyone buy a 700R4 and get it installed in the last couple of years?
What did it cost you?
TIA

I had the 80's 700R4 built locally for $1007.00 but I installed it. That price did not include a Stall converter just a regular, in a manner of speaking, torque converter came with the tranny (it was a non-lockup type) about 1100 RPM stall speed, give or take. It was about 200 to have that busted open and built into a 2500 RPM stall. Well it flashes at 2500 RPM stall speed is a little less.
This year I checked on a cost for a 200R4 for the 76 built to deal with the 383 and I was quoted just over $900.00 walk away and about $1000.00 installed and adjusted.
700R4 is not, considering everything, really all that expensive. Bowtie overdrive sells a 700R4 for just over $1,000.00 without the electronics included. I think it is actually 1030.00.
I'd suggest talking to the transmission guys locally and see what type of deal you can drum up. Sometime they will barter with you for your business.

I just joind so I hope this is going to work.
If you go to700r4 .com there is a place in califorina that builds preformence 700r4s and you can get an idea of what to look for when you are buying or haveing one builtand what you should expect to pay.
hope this helps

Thanks, guys.
Since he did my TH350, and he's a friend of my best friend, he's quoting me $800 for everything, electronics, etc.
Sounds like I am getting a good deal.
Appreciate the input.

I just recently bought and installed a TH200-4R from Bowtie Overdrives. Total cost for everything (tranny, crossmember & TV setup) was right around $2000. That included install of the tranny, setup of TV system, floor shifter and shortening of driveshaft.
