i have an 84 elky that when the low beams are on there fine but when i turn on the high beams the work for about a min then start turning on and off or just staying off. ive replaced the switch in the dash to see if that would help and it did for a while but it blew out again any sugestions on why or what is causeing this? thanks in advance for any advice.

It's probably just bad connections at the headlight plugs. Unplug all of the headlight connectors and look for green corrosion. Clean the terminals on the headlights and the connectors, then try them again. If the connectors are really bad, you may need to replace them.

Have you changed the headlights to some of the newer high wattage headlights? The on-off-on-off sequence is usually caused by the circuit breaker inside the headlight switch tripping and resetting.

i have already cleaned the connections once before the were not corroded before, i have however changed the headlights but iam not sure if they are more powerful or not ill check and see if thats it. thanks
