About eighteen years ago, I bought a set of Herb Adams sway bars for a '74 Chevelle (1-5/16 front & 1-1/2 rear). The rear bolted right up. I delayed putting the front on for a while for some reason (I don't recall the reason now). The front bar has been sitting with the car for quite a few years.
Fast forward to nine months ago. I went to put the front bar into my '74 Camino, and found that there was NO WAY to bolt it up. The ends of the bar are vertical. I bought and installed a Hellwig 1-5/16 bar. This bar has standard horizontal bar ends. Although the bars have the same diameter, the Herb Adams bar has shorter arms, making it stiffer.
Since then, I've checked from time to time, and not found a source of ends for the Herb Adams front bar. This past Monday, I had success. It appears that Herb Adams got out of the business, and moved on to axle design. Hi son, Matt Adams, took over the business, and currently runs it. He has the proper end-link kits.
These kits don't use the standard bushings on a bolt. Instead, they use a block bolted to the A-arm, and a spherical joint to attach the block to a bolt going through the sway bar. This setup will react MUCH faster than the standard bushings on a bolt attachment method. The current-production front bars use a tie-rod connection, but my front bar can't be retrofitted for it.
Matt Adams also has the bars (both front and rear), but he recommends a 1-1/4" rear bar on a Camino. Unfortunately, Matt Adams has no web presence. If anyone is interested in his sway bars, his contact information is as follows:
